Plain English Terms and Conditions

We’re making some commitments

The paid service subscription entitles you to use of a fully functioning Galileo device. But the Galileo is a very sophisticated piece of technology, and we’d be kidding ourselves if we didn’t accept that despite our best efforts,  sometimes technology fails. We will repair or replace (at our discretion) the Galileo provided as part of your service at any time should it not be able to function as intended (be it for flat battery, insufficient mobile phone network signal at the monitored location or any other reason). You will not be charged your subscription fee from the point at which you provide us with a valid tracking reference for the return freight.

You’re making some commitments too

In subscribing to using the Galileo service you’re making a few commitments, including:

  • Consenting to your nominated credit card account being charged $30 + GST per month during the service period, commencing from when the service is initiated (i.e. at the time of the order being placed at www.galileohq.com.au)
  • Returning the Galileo if/when you choose to cancel the service
  • Purchasing the Galileo hardware if it is lost, stolen, damaged, opened or not returned to us within 14 days upon our request or your decision to cancel the service.

You’re responsible for looking after the Galileo once received

We’ll send the Galileo by registered freight with proof of delivery. Upon availability of the proof of delivery, the custody and responsibility of the Galileo hardware lies with the account holder. The account holder will use a registered freight service providing proof of delivery if/when returning the Galileo hardware for any reason, including cessation of the service agreement or for a warranty claim, and custody and responsibility only transfers back to Outpost Central Pty Ltd upon a valid “proof of delivery” for the return shipment.

You must use your Galileo for monitoring a permanent vaccine store

Galileo has been specifically developed to service facilities that store vaccines. A registered address is assigned to each Galileo when at the time of ordering, and this is the address of the storage facility at which that Galileo must be used. We will receive alerts if you use your Galileo as a mobile device or at an address other than the registered one, and we restrict the right to exercise the “Sale of hardware” contract should you Galileo not be used solely at the nominated address.

We reserve the right to exercise a “sale of hardware” contract

The Galileo device is supplied to users as part of a paid service where ownership of the Galileo device by the user is not part of the standard service. Hardware remains the property of Outpost Central Pty Ltd. However, in accepting the service the account holder is committing to purchase the Galileo hardware at a cost of $350 + GST at any time if:

  • The device is damaged, lost or stolen
  • The device enclosure is opened
  • The device is not returned to Outpost Central Pty Ltd within 14 days of an email request to the account holder’s nominated email address as a result of a decision by the Account Holder, Outpost Central Pty Ltd to initiate a service termination.

Upon execution of the “Sale of hardware” contract the Account Holder’s credit card will be charged the $350 + GST hardware price. Should payment not be recoverable from the account holder’s credit card, debt recovery proceedings may be initiated.

We deal via the web

Galileo is at the cutting edge of technology. As such, all your dealings with us are designed to be web-based. In accepting a Galileo subscription your are committing to providing us with a valid email address for the nominated account, and to ensuring that communications to this email address are sufficiently monitored for us to deliver the Galileo service. In offering the service, in no way do we commit to being available for correspondence with you via telephone or in person.

Galileo is not infallible

We think that Galileo is the best way of monitoring vaccine stores ever produced. And while it is awesome, accurate and reliable; with something as critical as vaccines there should always be redundancy and backups in place. To this end we don’t recommend that users rely on Galileo as their only method of vaccine storage temperature monitoring, and naturally we’re unable to accept any responsibility for actions taken (or not taken!) as a direct result of information that is (or isn’t!) made available by the Galileo service.
